Sunday 10th feb 2008- Tower Hamlets 1-4 Staines Town WFC
Eleven player's is all we had today for another "must win" game that began in less than desierable fashion. After finding out we were down to nine players early this morning, we were extremely fortunate to start with eleven. Eddy Koff made her first start of the season, in an unusual centre back position
After leaving very late from Staines, we arrived in Bethnal Green with little time to spare before kick off, and after quickly getting changed and an even quicker warm up (which would soon come back to haunt us) we got under way. Understandably, it took us a long time to find our rhythm however Sammy Oliver gave us the lead with a neat finish mid-way through the first half. howver, the lead lasted only a matter of minutes as poor defending costs us a goal yet again. We made it three before the break though which gave us a comfortable lead.
Again the second half was an uninspiering one, but another goal mid-way through the half left us with maximum points. However, as previously mentioned, our lack of time to warm up did end up costing us with Lisa and Sharon struggling towards the end of the game.
At the end of the day it was one of those games you just want to get over and done with, and we did so by claiming maximum points and moving back into the promotion zone (Thanks to Panther's drawing with Denham!!). Another tricky game away at Battersea next week, however if we can continue our run of form, who know's what could happen when we meet Denham.
